Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov introduced the new Minister of Energy Almasadam Satkaliyev to the staff of the department and outlined priority tasks in the energy sector for the coming period.
The Head of Government stressed that the Ministry of Energy needs:
to intensify work on the development of large oil and gas projects and export transport corridors;
take measures to increase gas processing;
strengthen the heat and electricity production sector;
continue the development of renewable sources.
"Recently, some problems that have been accumulating for many years have worsened. The shortage of diesel fuel, interruptions in electricity and gas supply, accidents at heat supply facilities - all this indicates the presence of serious problems in the energy sector. All of them must be resolved promptly," Alikhan Smailov said.
At the same time, he pointed out that one of the main tasks of the ministry is to fill the domestic market with petroleum products, and therefore it is necessary to ensure strict control over their production and turnover.
"The Ministry faces many complex issues, the future of not only the fuel and energy industry, but also our entire economy directly depends on the effective solution of which. I am sure that Almasadam Maydanovich will direct his knowledge and experience to the successful development of energy. In general, we must all carry out the relevant instructions of the Head of State in a coordinated and high-quality manner. I wish the new Minister and the entire team fruitful work," the Prime Minister said.
